Signal Repeaters

A bed pad only reaches so far. It’s rated at 260 ft in the open, but you plan on 100 to 150 ft once there are walls between the bed and the station. A repeater sits in between and carries the signal the rest of the way, so a room at the far end pages the same as the one next door. It plugs into an outlet, and that’s the whole install. It stays as quiet as the board is. A phone only hears about a bed that has passed the wait you set for that resident, which is the rule the tiles already follow. Somebody who gets up, uses the bathroom and goes back to bed inside her wait never reaches anyone. That is the same timeout that keeps the halls quiet, working on the phone.

Everything the station shows. Every bed that is up right now, how long it has been, the wait it is measured against, and whether anybody has been in. The board itself as well, the same green and red tiles the station shows, and the floor plan, so somebody who isn’t in the building sees which room instead of reading a number and picturing it. It keeps itself current, and if the station stops reporting it says so instead of showing a stale screen as though it were live.

The question it answers at 2 a.m. is whether somebody went. A room that has been answered shows how long that took, and one that hasn’t keeps counting and pages again. There’s nothing to tap: an aide answers by walking in, and the bed goes green on its own when the resident is back in it. Most homes buy this with the board and no watches at all, and on those nights the phone is the only thing that reaches somebody who isn’t standing in front of the station — her own phone, and the smartwatch on her wrist if she already wears one, with nothing to buy or charge. What the home gives up there is control of the device: a personal phone or watch can be silenced, set to Do Not Disturb or left on a charger, and it reaches the one person who owns both. The watches we ship are the other trade — they belong to the home, run on the system’s own radio and need no phone and no network, so they reach whoever is on shift rather than whoever owns the right hardware. A pairing link works once, and a phone is revoked from the software the moment somebody leaves.

Anything that leaves the building is the one part of the system that can cost money later: the phones and email alerting are billed by the year, and texts are a prepaid pack that never expires. All of it is optional and quoted before you buy, so a home running the station, the pads and watches pays nothing after the purchase.

What exactly is the bed-status board?
It's a single touchscreen, the Monitoring Station, that shows every monitored bed as a tile: green when the resident is in bed, red when they've gotten up. It gives staff the status of the entire floor at a glance, without walking the halls or opening doors.
Does someone have to watch the screen all the time?
The board is your at-a-glance overview at the station. Most facilities also add watch pagers, so the assigned staff are paged on the wrist the moment a bed stays red past its timeout, anywhere in the building. Check the board when it's convenient; the watch catches what matters while staff are on the move.
How is this different from a cheap bed alarm pad?
A basic pad sounds an in-room buzzer every single time the resident moves, which leads to alarm fatigue and disabled alarms. Our system is smarter: you set a bed-exit timeout so only a resident who's been up longer than you allow triggers an alert. On top of that you get a full-floor status board, alerts that follow staff on watch pagers, and event logging for your reports, not just a standalone noisemaker.
Will it cause a lot of false alarms?

Does the resident have to wear or do anything?

Can I add call buttons and pull cords later?
Yes. This bed-monitoring package is a starting point, not a dead end. You can add bedside call buttons, bathroom pull cords, common-area buttons, and door lights at any time, and they all run on the same watch pagers and the same station. Many facilities begin with bed monitoring and expand into a complete nurse call system as their needs grow.

Do I need Wi-Fi or internet for this to work?
No. The sensors, the Monitoring Station, and the staff watches all talk to each other on their own wireless network, completely separate from your Wi-Fi and the internet. It keeps working even if your internet goes down. The only time you'd touch your regular network is if you add the optional alerting that leaves the building: the station on your phones, or text and email.
What if I have a large campus or multiple buildings?
That's covered. The system runs on its own wireless radio network, and signal repeaters extend the range as far as you need, across floors, wings, and separate buildings, so there are no dead zones. Most single-floor buildings need one repeater (the system builder above includes one by default); larger or multi-wing sites need one or two. Tell us your layout and we'll tell you the exact number before you order, so there's no guesswork on your end.
Does it keep records of bed-exit events?
Yes. Every bed-exit event and alert is logged and stored right on the Monitoring Station, so administrators can pull reports on who got up, when, how long they were out of bed, and whether it rose to an alert, all from the station itself. Any report can be printed or exported to PDF or CSV to hand to a family member or state surveyor. That data supports care planning, staffing decisions, and showing exactly what happened.
How long do the staff watches last on a charge?
Each watch pager runs about 3 to 4 days on a single charge and fully recharges in around 4 hours, so staff can top it up between shifts. The watches are 100% waterproof, vibrate only, and hold up to 16 messages. The belt-clip beeper is the same price and the same alert, but it sounds as well as vibrating and is water resistant rather than waterproof, so most homes put watches on the night shift. The optional multi charger powers up to 5 of either from a single outlet.
Are there any monthly fees?
No. It's a one-time purchase with no subscriptions and no per-user fees, and adding staff costs nothing. Lifetime technical support, software updates and maintenance are included.
